'Nuther Texan on the board.
I'm new to the C10 biz and chevys in general. I am in the process of buying a shortbox '62 fleetside. I will try and search the archives to get answers to my neophyte questions as best I can. But I'm sure I will ask questions that you all have fielded before. I hope to learn much from this board.
About me, I have been a Ford guy mostly, but Cadillacs and GM trucks have always had a place in my heart. I had been in search of a knee knocker shortbed in particular. I wanted a '63, but I got a deal on a '62 that I could not pass on. Not too bad a truck either, but definately a project vehicle. I was building a '27 Model T traditionally styled hot rod until I got transferred to TX. Like a dumbass I sold my project, I guess at the time I did what I thought I had to do given the situation. Oh well, water under the bridge. Now I have my Chevy and I am happy. My plans are to lower it, so I will be looking for info on that. But here is my game plan: 1. Get it roadworthy first. 2. Take sections of it apart at a time. (may have to do this first, dunno) 3. Plan modifications with regards to engine/chassis. 4. Customize the body (tastefully) |
