Modification Hell

I would be interested if someone could pass me some information on what length steering column I would need for my 72 Pro-St. I was shopping around and found a good deal but need to know what length of steering column I need. Any help

I was also wondering if I need to beware of any unforseen problems in switching from a SB / T350 to a BB / T400. I have a small hump and was wondering if it will clear the larger size trans. So far all the information I have gotten say that it should be OK. Should is not quite good enough, and want to know from the experts. All you guys....
