New Guy here...

Just wanted to post and say hello. I just picked up a '71 Suburban from one of my friends Dad's. I have been looking for a 2wd Blazer to bag and chop to no avail(few and far between here in Colorado). It just so happened that my buddies Dad had a 4wd Suburban sitting in his backyard for about the last 10 years. Low and behold he wanted to sell it and it even runs and drives just fine. It's all stock, 350 V8 and TH350 tranny, has all your standard rust etc. but pretty good shape overall. Picked it up for $800.

Plans initially include all the bodywork. A friend of mine is donating me his bodywork expertise and will be doing most of the work with my help. I have all the patch panels already and began tearing into it last weekend. Future plans include converting it to 2wd(have all the parts already), bagging it and probably chopping it too(hopefully you guys don't think thats sacrilegious).
I'm going to leave the interior 100% stock/clean.

I'll try to post my progress on here.
Thanks.
Mark
Here are a few of the pics from right after I picked it up:
