TBI for my truck

Well my sons off to college and was unsure what to do with his old 87 camaro.
It took the usual hits in the doors and fenders that a highschool kid seems to always get into. Now that he's gone was wondering about pulling the 305TBI and 700 tranny to put in a truck. Since I have the whole car to strip was wondering how much I need to pull. Do I need some of the electricals from under the dash or is it all out in the engine compartment. I know I could do a painless wiring kit but with as many trucks as I have my wife doesn't approve of the bigger ticket items.
Anyone that has done this let me know.
Also I have never put anything but a 350 or bigger in my trucks will I regret a 305/700r4------- even if it's free!
Anything else I should save or find useful off the car before I send her to that scrapyard in the sky.
