vent window rebuild

Ok, I finally got my vent window hardware rechromed. Cost $180, and was a 9 out of 10 in terms of quality. I'm satisfied. Anyway, I started the reassembly today. This isn't that easy of a job. I got them back together and found out that I can't close my vents. 2 questions -

How tight should these things be after new rubber, etc is installed?

Has anyone in 60 mile radius around OKC ever rebuilt these?

I need some help. I'm so close to getting the truck back together, I don't have any tinkering patience left in me. I'm at the point of just going out and buying some at the junkyard and reassembling the doors so I can enjoy the truck for a while...but what a waste that would be if everything else has been redone...

HELP!
