bed repair

I am new to the body repair world, so bare with me here.

The beds of our trucks (fleetside, longbox here) can be taken apart piece by piece, is this correct? Are they all bolted together, or are there welds that will need to be drilled or cut down? I have one side of the box on my truck that might be easier to pull off and replace than try to patch (back yard body man repair.....almost looks like the panel originally had a toolbox...was that offered on 70 3/4t 4x4's?)....its not on my option sheet though, so maybe this whole panel is a patch panel....that was later patched?

Can you but steel floors still? Mine seems to have taken on a 'wave' design after years of people throwing......god knows what into it.
