The day of grease
Got into a lot more than I planned on today. I was running tests on the engine in the 69 and came up with some low compression Most cylinders were 95 and 2 were 110 and 1 was 115. Bottom end is still knocking and screaching. Jacob (Krazy_texan) and his seabee bud Justin came buy and decided to pitch in and help me pull the clip. Well, we after a meeting of the mindless we decided to also yank the engine. Within a couple hours, clip and engine are out of the grease encrusted truck.
Note to self. When you buy engine stand, you must also buy bolts to hook the engine with Old fashion, on the floor, on wood blocks tear down. So far the teardown does not look to bad. The intake was not on tight, and I found a nail sticking out of a water jacket. No bent pushrods and they all seemed good. I have a feeling I'll see the real mess when I pull the botton end. I have found some bits of metal shavings in the engine valley. There is not much of a ridge on the cyclnder walls and no bad scoring on the driver's side. Not sure if I'll rebuild now or crate it. I'll have to see what the the other side and botton end is like. Here are some shots of the fun today. Thanks to my resident SeaBees. Could not have done it without you guys.
