Shaving antenna, where to put it?

I have my cowl off the truck right now, along with every other body panel, and before I repaint it, I think I want to shave the antenna. I always thought it looked kind of goofy up there, and my stock antenna is thrashed, so moving it is the obvious answer. How hard is it to fill in the hole, and where does everyone usually relocate an antenna to? I will be buying a new one, just not sure which new one. Any suggestions? Thanks!
