April, 1973 NADA Official Used Car Guide
Since I tend to "hoard" stuff, and I use that term liberally, I came across the used car price guide, the kind used by dealers and lenders, for April of '73. I looked up my '69 C-10 SWB Fleetside and got the following pricing:
Av'g Trade-In $1125. Av'g Loan $1025 Av'g Retail $ 1575 For the C-series trucks, having the CST package adds $25/25/50 to the three categories above. The Camper package adds $50/50/75. If it had a 3-speed gearbox, you deduct $75/75/75 from the values. If it had 4WD, you add $325/300/400, to the pricing. There was nothing in the book about A/C, P/B, or any other options except what I have mentioned. Nowadays, if it doesn't have A/C, Automatic, you deduct from the stated values. Makes me want to go back in time, with some of todays' money that I have stashed!!
