Finally tore into the truck this weekend....

Figured out what was causing the knocking. It appears the folks who rebuilt the motor didnot torq one of the rod caps very well. The truck has been sitting for a little over 2 years. I have had it almost 5 years total. The guy I bought it from said the motor had just been rebuilt.

I pulled it out with the tranny. My Dad and I flipped it over and pulled the oil pan ans saw the damage. I was able to twist of the nuts off by hand on the bad cap. Bearing was all tore up. Anyway, I may get some pics posted. I am getting ready to put the new motor in soon a a few weeks after I get everything cleaned up and painted. The tranny also has a 1/2 inch thick protective coating of mud and oil.
