where to put a tach

I'm interested in putting in a tach. I've actually got an '89 suburban (posted here b/c it's the same dash, but a lot more action than the burb forum). It's got the 2 big cutouts that has the speed and gas gauge. The 4 small ones have voltage, oil pressure, something else (can't remember) and a tranny temp guage I put in.

Has anybody put a tach where the large gas gauge is but somehow still had the gas gauge??

Where have you mounted a tach outside the cluster?? Any pics??
