1972 blazer...offer price?

I came across a 72 blazer about 3 hours away.....looks relatively rust free.....BAD rattle can paint job from the pic I have seen.....the guy is asking $2,000 for it....which seems like an ok price....but I don't NEED it....but wouldn't mind owning it....if that makes sense.....I could walk away if he doesn't accept my offer, but when you find a blazer, let alone one in decent condition in my neck of the woods, you have to look
(if only to look).....without pics, what would be a good offer on the truck I have just described?
as far as I know, th350, not CST, low rust (relative term...I know), new tires, bad paint......been on the market for about 2 months now.
