What the...

Was under my truck today, and I noticed that I have 2 crossmembers, one at the bellhousing and another right under the tail housing. Seems kinda odd to me. Whats the deal guys? P.O decide to bolt in a auto x-member too?

Also foundout that I have a 1 piece driveshaft. The truck is a 65 1/2 Ton Shortbed. v8 / 3spd manual.

How hard will it be to swap from the manual to an automatic? Tranny measures 26" give or take 1" from the bellhousing to the tailshaft and it's 21-22" from where the tranny bolts to the bellhousing to the tailshaft.

Any clues?

Edit:

I was pointed here: http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge...on_gateway.htm

A while ago, but my transmission doesnt look like any of those. It looks like a GM car transmission.
