Post Longbox to Shortbox

I started to play around with photoshop and found out that the truck would look pretty good with a shortbox. But I'am fairly new to the whole rebuilding process, nevermind bodywork. I'm sure i could handle the roof removal, but shortening the frame is something i'm scared to even attempt. So what exactly is involved in that...and do body shops charge a whole lot to have a frame shortened?
All the options i've considered. http://home.uleth.ca/~dimitri.reizvikh/truck.jpg
