cleaning the cracks and making stuff stick
I just got my auto x-member from Teeitup (thanks dude!) - I've hit it with the pressure washer and then the wire wheel and brush - I don't have a sandblaster yet (baby due any day now) so I have to go with what I've got. HOW are you guys getting down in between the riveted on pieces? I really dont' want to disassemble and bolt back together. I've "run" laquer thinner in the cracks and pushed in a rag. It's not to be a trailer queen I just want to make sure my paint will stick.
Along those lines, am I ok with rattle rustoleum primer until I get my por 15 or Eastwood Rust Encapsulator? I don't want it to rust up yet or start storing paint until I'm ready to do more parts at once. Thanks for any input.
