Another Sob Story

Anyone know of someone in the Portland, OR area that does body and paint. I am new to it and took a college course for it and spent a lot of time piecing my Blazer back together purchased new doors, fenders and qtr patch panels. I got everything blocked and primered, the doors still need some work and some aligning. Problem is I was taking it to a friend of a friend that does paint (very good work too) expecting 2K-3K because I have already purchased the paint and clear coat. Well on the way there the tranny seal leaked, and driving on the freeway, sprayed all over the truck. The guy told me he would have to take it all back down and start over. He said he would do it for $4500 this to me sounds like a pretty good deal as I have had estimates before I did anything to the truck for around 7K-8K. I just don't have that kind of cash flow and I really want to drive my Blazer this summer. So any thoughts, suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys!
