rearend narrowing rehash...

I have the rearend at the machine shop ready to get narrowed,etc... BUT I just want to make sure before I give the guy the go ahead that I have the correct measurements. I want 3" to 3 1/2" of backspacing on the Torq Thrust II's in a 20x10 reverse rim. The tires will be 295/40/20. What are the correct measurements from outside of the drums that I should tell the guy? He is going to replace the 6lug drum to a 5lug drum. It is also for a 70 fleet swb.
