Re: New '70 Jimmy
As I have only had it 5 days, I haven't even fully given it the once over. I did have registration and insurance by Monday (day 1) This way I can drive it a bit, cause I have a feeling once I get going may be immobile for a while.
As far as the front end and brakes, it does have discs and power. The pedal feels perfect, so sag or fade, no pulling, feels very firm and right. But is the small brake pedal correct?, all my previous automatic K5's had the bigger pedal. I pulled out all the carpet. A little rust at the back end of the bed under the chrome strip. Tailgate rust free. Inner rear wheel wells llok good only the seam sealer is coming off from some surface rust. From the front seats forward there was a yellow foam sealed to the floor. As the PO told me there was rust in the front floorboard drivers side only. 6 to 8 inches below the dimmer against the kickpanel. Also a little where your heel would be near those ball thing the gas pedal attaches to. ALso a little by the seat belt anchor (it is solid but about an inch or two near it has a small hole) So I am pleased so far as to the little amount of rust repair in the future. The floor board hole exposes the support and you can see the rocker boxes and support still "look" solid. I'll get some pics posted when I get a chance, until then slowing surveying the situation.
