removing wood grain from dash bezel???

I just got a bezel in the mail today I won in an ebay auction, it had the stock woodgrain on part of it, how can I remove it with out cracking it? it seems to be slightly glued, I was thinking about putting it in the oven for a few minutes. Anyone removed these before with out damage? I'll try and post pics, it's a 75-76 bezel.
