Bell housings, flywheels, and trans, oh my

I'm in the process of putiing a mid 80's 350 in a 72 gmc 4x4. The doner truck has a th 400. I have the bell housing and flywheel for the sm465 from the original 350 engine. Will they bolt right up to the later model block?

And can I use the th400 to replace a th350 in a different truck? The th400 is in a 2wd truck, and it would be going into a 71 4wd. Is the th350 adapter for the np205 the same as the th400? I will have the bellhousing and flexplate from the th400, if needed.

Is there any advantage to switching the th350 out with the th400? My main reason for considering the swap is that the th350 has about twice the mileage and leaks pretty bad.

Thanks, Al
