A retro-roller cam swap advice in 350sbc

Im thinking of doing a cam swap in my 350sbc, its got for now 9.0:1 c/r, S/R torquers with beehive springs, EPS Edelbrock, Edelbrock 600 cfm carb. The cam i went with was a Comp grind (XR270HR) with .495in .502ex and 218in 224ex @50. 110 L/S, and an intake closing of 61 abdc. Now the cam is nice, but it idles a little to smooth for my taste. The motors in my 76 shortbed GMC, with a saginaw 3 speed, and 3.42 gears, and P27560's roughly 28" tall. I want to change to a better set of heads in the future, but for now i want to maybe go with a little better retro-roller cam if possible. Something that has a little nicer idle to it, that wont kill to much of the bottom end. One cam i was looking at is the Comp 280HR, with .525 in. and ex. and 224 in. and ex. @50, intake closing is 66 abdc, 110 L/S. (Pleas Advise)
