grease points on 73-87 front suspension?

Somewhere along the way car manufacturers started moving away from grease points and using "sealed" front end components which you didn't have to grease (in theory...).

I have heard these sealed front ends wear out faster, so I am wondering, were there any changes with regard to the number of grease points from 73 to 87, or are they all essentially the same (for 1/2 ton)? I will be doing a crossmember swap on a 67 pickup in the near future, and want all the grease points I can get!
