Hub history

Hi all, I'm hopeing to tap into your wealth of knowledge reguarding late 70's early 80's front and rear hubs.

I've have slid a 80 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 chassis under a 1 ton 49 international body. Dana 44 up front and GM 14 bolt out back. I'm wanting to narrow the rear axle 4 inches. I have read that GM did make rear hubs that moved the WMS (wheel mounting surface) in 2" on each side. No other mods are needed just swap the hubs. These are called "type B" they came on chassis trucks.

Anyone ever heard of this swap? better yet anyone have a pair for sale?

My other question is did GM or Chevy ever have the really huge 4-1/2" hubs. I have seen these on the 76 3/4 ton F@@@S.
I'm wanting to put these on my dana 44 axle and use all GM parts (ie brakes)
It's only for the look I'm after, this truck is going to be for showing more then wheeling.
