66 Stepside Shortbox - compatible cabs

My 66 has just been lowered with the addition of pwr brakes and pwr steering. I now a good foundation on which I can build my dream hot rod truck. I want to have the body redone (all metal repaired) but after upgrading the powerplant and drive train. It seems to me that the biggest downtime would be due to the cab. Pulling off the box, front fenders and hood would be pretty straight forward. The cab would require stripping, removal and then restoring. I want new seats, carpet and interior anyway so while the interior stuff is being done I could still drive the truck. Then, a stripped down rolling chasis could have the engine and transmission installed and body work reinstalled. Does anyone have any input regarding swapping cabs from other years' (60-66)?
