Need new rear end

Have 67 short step with 12-bolt 3.73 (I think).
-- Raised one wheel, put in neutral, etc..
-- When rotated tire two turns, drive shaft turned approximately 3.7 turns. Should have been stock in truck (had a 250 6 cyl from factory).

Looking for a better ratio for daily driving / highway.

From what I have read 3.42 or 3.08 should work.

Question 1: recommendations?

Question 2: Anyone have one?
