Hello all I just found this site... mainly hoping to find info on hom much work it would be to swap out my 72 chevy K10 frame to a 73-87 frame...

I recently purchased the K10 but it is the 3rd 67-72 I have owned... my first project was a 72 GMC 1500 4x4... never got to finish because I went into the air force and when I Was gone my brother in law blew the motor and then took it over... when I got home I was going to purchase it back but he wanted to much money for it... he paid me $1500 for it... he wanted $6000 for it back... in non running condition.. O well

my second 72 was a chevy C10. it was a daily driver-fun to drive truck and fixer upper... I put lots of time and money into it.. but when I moved from Ga to Fl I could not take more then one vehicle to the chevy had to go..

The new 71 K10 4x4 I purchased about a week ago.. it runs ( I would not say great) but it runs and drives... needs a little ( understatment ) work and the frame is a little gone... so if anyone has any info on the frame swap and could aim me in the right direction that would be great...

sence I purchased it on monday I have replaced the exaust with a dual dynomax 2-1\2 inch exaust and have welded up the holes in the frame as a temporary fix... waiting on my LMC catolog so I can drop a boat load of money into that store...

so main thing I don't know much about is the frame swap.. I am going to try and find a solid 72 frame but in the case of that being impossible I want to know the steps...

this truck is going to be a driver-weekend fun truck and I am going to drive it and slowly restore it... my plans as of now are 4 inch lift and 34 inch tires we shall see though...
