Post Timing on 350 HEI

What do you guys have your timing set on your 350 with HEI. Truck is running great but I'm getting about 9 - 10 mpg. I've been through my truck this past winter, front end, plugs, wires, u joints, brakes etc. Opened gap up to .45 on new plugs. Sure would like 11 or 12 since gas is going up and I live about 18 miles from work.
