coil or leaf springs???????

I have a 71 chev 1/2 ton with coil springs on the rear. I have a chance to buy a 70 chev 1/2 ton parts truck with leaf springs on the rear. Is the leaf spring frame a rare option or is it common with certain years. Also what frame will I get the better ride out off. I'm thinking the coil springs and as this truck is going to be my sunday afternoon cruiser, I don't need to worry about towing capacity, it will never tow a trailer. I look forward to any info that is out there, Thanx
