OPINION: Mechanical or body work first?

Working on my 72 I'm debating which I should do first. Should I put all the high performance parts on first, get the drive train how I want it. Or should I get everything looking cherry, then do the mechanicals. I work for an auto parts wholesaler,so all paint, body supplies, sheet metal I can get at wholesale cost. So according to my pricing, body work on my truck won't run too much, considering that I will also be doing all the work, and paint. The performance parts are going to run me the most. Looking for some opinions before I start down the long road.

Thanks,
Andy
