Were to put an oil temp sensor?

Well the title says it all basicly.
I've tried the oil pan, but it leaked a little bit and I wanted to tighten it a bit more but it broke off,
leaving me with a lot of cleaning to do on the floor in front of my house
The adapter plug broke in half. The part that was still inside the oilpan I luckely got it out without any problems.
So is there any other place where I can put this oil temp sensor in a Small Block?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Cya,
Edmond
