Water Pump Plumbing Question

Ok I live in Phx so I am buiding things more for better cooling than better heater core performance
So here is the question:

Should I run my heater hose off the water pump or off the radiator?

I have plumbing to do either with the other hose going to the manifold. That is where the other goes right????

I don't really care if the heater core doesn't work as well, I am more concerned about the water pump pushing as much as possible to help with cooling at idle/stop lights. I have great cooling when rolling but things heat up at idle/stoplights after a long freeway drive or alot of stop and go.

All thought welcome. Since I have things apart right now might as well do it right.

Thanks in advance
