Headlights

After about 1/2 hr with my lights on they start to flash on and off. The oncoming traffic loves this as there must be a cop ahead!! I'm sure there is a circuit breaker type fuse some where. The rest of the lights (dash etc) are not affected. Is it on the light switch itself? Can it be changed or is it time for a new switch?
Thanks in advance for the help and Happy Fathers Day to all the dads. I'm off for a round of golf with my 12 year old.
