Wood bed/bedsides assembly

Just finished the new bed wood and I've been been assembling it on the new cross sills on top of the frame with the bedsides off.

Last night I looked at the beautiful bed wood sittin pretty on the frame. Then I looked at the bedsides.

Looked at the bed wood again. Then the bedsides..... and thought hmmmmm.... should I have done this differently?

The bedsides sit on top of the wood, but the wood sits on top of the front panel and rear sill.

I'd appreciate any advice on which order I *should have* assembled the bed wood/bedsides and which way to go now??

I have to replace the rear sill too, so I'm thinking of leaving the wood and cross sills on the frame and setting the bedsides and front panel on the wood before attaching the rear sill.
