A/C Compressor Squealin', what gives?

ok. i was charging my system, 3 cans into it before i realized that 1st can was regular r12, not oil charge (i had the system vac'd.) so, on the 3rd can, i kicked on the engine and a/c, to help get the charge in. i get god-awful hollerin' from the belt, because the compressor is only sporadically turning. i checked the vents, and the air was chillin' so i knew the compressor was compressin'.

it was only after this that i realized i had no r12 oil charge in my stash.

did i screw something up real bad?
