New to the Forums. Check out the ride.
I am new to everything cars really. I am only 19 but i had this wonderful truck fall into my lap at the age of 18 and i love it to death. It was my dads before he passed away and I got it from him. I am just wondering about your thoughts on it, and also, since i am new to it all i kinda need help on everything!
The truck is a '68 Chevy 1/2 ton longbed stepside. That is quite a mouthful but the bed is a very unique feature. I have looked on the boards and seen other '68 stepsides...but none of them with an 8" bed!!!. We didnt have much time to do the "restoration" properly and in doing so kinda messed me up later down the road. Things done to it: Chevy blue paint on the outside Blue and Black on the inside Vinyl bench seat 3 on the tree moved to the floor new GMC crate engine v8 350 new brakes new rims and tires Thats it. The only gauge that works is the Speedometer. The gas gauge shows it is FULL at .25 of the way full...and then empty at the empty mark? (odd). I want to hook the gauges up but have no clue how to go about it. I want new shocks and springs but dont want to get ripped off at a local store.(id rather buy the shocks and springs and just have someone install them. Like i said, im only 19 with a lifetime of work ahead of me. My money is limited so the 'performance' packages are up my alley just yet. But i do want it to ride nice...and it does. But i want it better. If someone can help me.I want to lower it a few inches...when it turns i hear a scrapping noise on the back left tire(would new springs and shocks prevent this) since i feel like i am in a boat everytime i turn lol..i need help hooking the gauges up or just getting a new set. Also, I would like to move the gas tank to UNDER the bed. The smell gets me to and i want to put a sound system in behind the seat. Any thought on how i can move it?
