Side trim question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have noticed that some Chevy and GMC trucks between 1973 and the late 70's did not receive the complete side trim . Some have the complete trim and some have the top and front fender trim only . What was the reason that these trucks didnt receive the lower trim from the lower front fender back to the tailgate ? Just curious since I am buying one that is like this . I am thinking of adding the remaining trim . What do you think ? I should have the truck tomorrow as long as everything goes well . Frank
