driveshafts part II
ok the crap continues, did manage to finally un jam the prop shafts from each other and i filed and filed on the ends of the splines of the front popr shaft until finally barely squeaked on the rear shaft over the front shaft splines, but was damend tighht and had to use block of 4x4 wood to pack splines together and make them slide, i really dont understand why they wont go together so bad,,,
but now the next problem i encountered after having to replace a snap ring because some freakin how one flew out while banging on shaft, the front prop shaft is too short, wont reach the output yoke on end of the 4 speed,,, sigh... now im toast.. anyone got a front prop shaft for 2wd 3/4 ton 4 speed V8 truck ? long or short bed, doesnt matter, truck VIN has to begin with CE or CCE and be 68-72 only. thanks ------------------ Randy- Lincoln, IL randy@ccaonline.com 2177353230 -71 C-10 350/CH465/3.07, assemble it, yeah right, that'll happen in this world,(not) -84 Z28 Camaro 5.0L 700R4, 3.73, beater, paid way too much for it like an idiot,, -84 Firebird SE 2.8L T-5, rod knocking, dammit,, -82 Firebird 350 4bolt (TBL)/TH350, not running, dammit... buy/sell/hoard/trade most any GM vehicle parts of any kind -parting out: '81 Cutlass Supreme Brougham *Paint is overrated © RSS Enterprises 2000 |
