Fuel Evaporator Canister

Does anyone know the effects of not having a fuel evaporator canister on their truck? Does it cut down on your fuel mileage.

I haven't gone out to investigate it yet, but I posted a thread on another forum and someone mentioned it. Basically (and if I remember right) when I took mine off, it is leaving the gas tank venting to atmosphere, and therefore wasting any gas that evaporates while in the gas tank. Also, I'm running fuel injection, so any gas that is pumped out of the tank and isn't used by the engine gets pumped back to the tank and free falls back into the tank, which I'm sure adds to the fuel vaporizing.

Anyone with experience with this.

I'm working on increasing my fuel mileage and I'm thinking this may be one thing I've been overlooking WAY too long.

Thanks
