1872 1/2 ton spring cup

When putting my truck on the lift friday, I noticed that the
driver rear sagging and when investigated found the rear spring was not connected to the frame, It appears that the housing or cup for the spring has rusted away. Is this common?where could I secure another to replace it with? (new). Is there anything I need to know before replacing it?..............Thanks in advance...........Joe
