Talking Drip Rails

I have a 71 C-10 LWB and fixin to try to completely redo the truck. When it rains it leaks from the drip rail and I was trying to figure out what the best way to fix the rails. I was wondering how it would look with the rail shaved
off. Any Help is appreciated. Did the Custom Deluxe C-10 come out factory with cab lights?
