gummed up

and could use some advice. I just recently inherited a 1965 c-10 from a friend of mine who's dream was to rebuild his truck. I'm gonna finish this project for him. The truck has been sitting for over 15 years. I've got the motor in pretty good shape and ready to start, but the gas tank has some rust and about 1/4 inch of gummy tar like old fuel in the bottom. My question is: is there any to get the tank clean or should I just buy a new one?
