Late 80's steering wheel - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have the stock 1967 Chevy steering wheel and horn cap on my truck and was just thinking about changing it to a more "racey" one with better grip and slightly shorter diameter.

I have seen a lot of the 1988-up Chevy steering wheels on the 67-72 trucks. Is there a particular reason for using this type? Are they just more comfortable or what?

Just curious mainly. The only reason I'm keeping the old steering wheel is the fact that it really completes the classic look of things with it's thin grip, classic "three arm" structure and original horn cap. The words CHEVROLET DIVISION still stick out real well. It's pretty cool.

Does anyone else find the 67-68 steering wheels to be "cool looking"?
