All Power cuts out - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Recently my 71 started to die on me. When I am driving, I will loose all electrical power for a few seconds. Motor dies, radio dies, volt guage dies to. after a few seconds, it will start up and I am on my way. The truck has a 350 in it with the serpentine system from a 90 chevy truck. Everything else is stock. Has anyone experienced this before? I don't know where to begin looking, so any help would be greatly apreciated.
