Door lock question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I just fixed my door latch by using a donor 72 door. My old latch was frozen so i don't know if this is normal. If I lock the door by pushing the pin down, and then shut the door, the pin pops up! I can then push the pin down by hand. Is this normal ir is something misaligned? Everything else works great now. thanks
