Back again with another project
It's been a while since I've been around and it looks like things have come a long way. The upgraded site looks great!
Long story short, I bought a '68 GMC 305 V6, 3spd and it's all original, mostly untouched. The shifter linkage is real snug and it appears that everything works on this truck. The guy I bought it from thought the engine was locked up because he couldn't turn it over by hand. However, he had it in gear trying to turn it over. I put it in nuetral and it spun right over by hand. There's no title to it, but at $100 for a complete '68 GMC, I won't complain. All the trim is there and in great shape and the body is very straight with only two minor dings. The only cancer is in the outter rockers and one cab corner. I'll get it running reliably, fix the rust and misc. issues, then paint it and I'm sure sell it so I can start another project. I'll keep ya'll updated on the progress. Anyone have any spare tires good for rollers laying around? How hard is it to find parts for this old V6? Is there a specific HEI that will swap in? Pics:
