Southern Louisiana 84 C10 here!

Just found the board a couple of days ago. Looks like there's some useful info here. Anyway yea I have 1984 C10 pickup that's being prostreet'ed right now. And here's the short version on how I got it. It was my Dad's truck that he bought brand new in 84 off the lot and has been his work truck ever since. It actually was the first truck I drove when I got my license at 15 (I'm 27 now). Well almost exactly a year ago my Dad passed away of a sudden heart attack. He was 52. He and I use to always talk hot rods and he'd come to my shows when I use to show trucks. He used to have a couple of 69 Camaros back in the day so needless to say he was big into hot rods and cars/trucks of that era. Well... my Mom ended up giving me his truck so it wouldn't just sit up and rot away. I took it gladly and told myself I would build a hot rod out of it in memory of him and have a dedication airbrushed on the back of it. At least I know I'll have it for the rest of my life and some day it will be my son's.

Well here's some pics I thought I'd share. It has come a long way so far but still has a long way to go.

**EDITED**
Updated pic of the motor in the truck further down.

Hopefully in the coming weeks I'll have a 4 link / coilover setup welded to a Ford 9" rear end that I have already that came out of my Nova. The rear fender wells are getting tubbed as well to fit some meat back there. So the motor is in I just have to mount the fuel cell and run my gas lines and I should be able to crank it up then. Still no driveshaft until I get the rear end under there to know my measurements on the custom shaft. Then there's the interior which will be a 100% rebuild but that will be much later.
