Hood and fender compatibility 67 on a 72?

I'm thinking about swapping hoods on my 72 to a 67. Will i need to swap fenders also? Will my 72 grill surround work with the 67 hood. I think the 67 hood looks great on lowered trucks.
On a side note, back in the early to mid 90's there was a 67-72 truck that was red, black with silver graphics. Had a phantom grill and the first 18+" rims I had seen on this year truck. It was a regular in classic truckin' and other rags of the type. Anybody know which vehicle I am refering to? Anybody have pics or info on it?
