Speaking of headers...

My exhaust manifolds are in rough shape, and I thought about yanking them off and putting headers on with new exhaust back to the turbo mufflers. The exhaust pipes from the manifold flanges down to the mufflers are about to turn to dust and float away. I have stock '80 350 heads, so the exhaust ports aren't huge or anything.

1. If I did decide to go in this direction what size headers for SBC should I get?

2. Do I need to yank the manifolds and measure the ports before I think about getting some headers?

3. What's worked for everyone else?

4. Is this even worth it? Maybe I should just yank/cut the old exhaust ahead of the mufflers out and have new pipes welded in.
