Any thoughts on buying Edelbrock?

Thinking of buying a new Edelbrock performer 2101 intake and Performer carb 1406.
I have a new GM universal crate motor 10067353 - wasted way too much time and money with the new Holley spreadbore carb and using the original intake mani setup - cant get it properly tuned by anyone, even the old timer racers in CA and TX.

#1406, 600 cfm, square-flange, electric choke (non-EGR)
