Air compressor died?
OK, its been raining here in La. for about a month straight now. Well, obviously, I'm running the defrost. Well out of NOWHERE this morning the windows start fogging REALLY bad, I thought maybe I was just an idiot or something, but sure enough, the vents aren't blowing cold air. Its actually a bit warm.
Tonight, same thing after work. And its all A/C settings, the compressor isn't even cutting on. Flip it to a setting and the compressor doesn't switch on. Is the HVAC bad? Has the compressor burned up? I've smelt a smidge of burning rubber for the past few weeks but there hasn't felt like a problem, figured it was just b/c the motor is running like arse and it smells wierd. We did tighten the belt about a month ago because it was squealing but it isn't over-tightened at all. Did just tightening it kill the compressor? Please help. If the compressor is shot, will the A/C compressor from my parts truck 84 fit?
